CLEAR BY DESIGN
A little clarity
about your data.
OMGText is operated by SLG Developer. Contact support@slgdeveloper.com for privacy, access, correction or deletion requests. Updated September 30, 2026.
This website
Our product pages have no advertising, analytics scripts or tracking cookies. The account deletion page uses Firebase Authentication and, for phone sign-in, Google reCAPTCHA to verify your identity and prevent abuse. Fonts and illustrations are served with the site. The conversation preview runs in your browser using fictional messages; clicking through it does not send an SMS or create an account.
As with any website, the server hosting it receives technical request information such as your IP address, requested page and browser headers. Logging and retention depend on the configured hosting service. Downloading the checklist does not enroll you in the pilot.
The private SMS pilot
The app’s account is authenticated through Firebase. Our backend stores account and device records, assigned numbers, delivery metadata, usage and operational audit records. In app version 0.6.0 and later, message history is stored on your device. Our delivery queue holds message text until your registered devices confirm it is saved, or for a seven-day delivery window. Expired text is cleared by periodic cleanup. Provider and backup retention are separate. Reinstalling the app or changing phones does not restore previously delivered messages. Telnyx processes cellular messages, and the recipient’s carrier handles delivery to their phone.
SMS is not end-to-end encrypted. A separate number helps you decide which number to share; it does not make messages anonymous or invisible to service providers. Avoid sending sensitive information during testing.
Notifications and subscription tests
When you enable notifications, Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service deliver alerts to your installation. Our server stores the device token and removes its account association on sign-out. SMS push alerts include message text and the sender’s number or available caller name. Your device’s notification settings control lock-screen previews. With your permission, OMGText reads contacts locally to display saved names; it does not upload your address book. A provider caller-name lookup may be used when available.
Apple or Google processes in-app purchases. Our backend verifies signed Apple transactions or Google Play purchase tokens and stores the product, store account association, subscription status and expiry. Store verification credentials and Google purchase tokens stay on the server. We do not collect your payment card details. During private testing, verified sandbox subscriptions can activate an operator-funded line. Sending availability remains specific to each line.
Calling
With an eligible plan, Telnyx carries internet call audio. OMGText does not record calls. We retain temporary call metadata for seven days and monthly usage totals while your account is open. Local call history stays on your phone. PushKit and Firebase deliver incoming-call invitations. Microphone access is used for calls only.
Account deletion and retention
Use Settings → Delete account in the app or delete your account on the web. Access and device notifications stop as soon as your request is accepted. Background processing revokes voice credentials, deletes your Firebase login and removes account, delivery, message, subscription-verification, usage and call data from the live database. Temporary provider failures are retried; contact support if you need confirmation. An anonymous account identifier remains to prevent late billing events from recreating service. Numbers are detached and quarantined for at least 30 days before any reassignment.
In-app deletion removes this phone’s saved history. Deletion on the web cannot erase an offline phone or another person’s copies. Removing the app does not cancel an Apple or Google subscription. Carrier and store records and backup copies follow the providers’ own retention policies. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.
Service providers and requests
Google Firebase handles sign-in and notifications; Google Cloud Run and Cloud Tasks operate the API and work queue; Neon hosts the database; Telnyx handles SMS and calls; Apple and Google handle store transactions. Hosting and providers may process data outside your country. Contact SLG Developer at support@slgdeveloper.com to exercise applicable data rights or ask about processing.
